Council Double Bit Axe - 3-1/2 Lb Head - 36" Straight Handle

Council Tool Double Bit Axes are available in model choices that include a Michigan pattern double bit axe head (#35-2MR) coated with red enamel or Michigan pattern double bit axe head with phantom bevels (#35-2MC) with natural steel finish. Phantom bevels, or hollows, are designed to reduce sticking and minimize burst wood chips. Both models are 3.5 lb axes with 36 inch straight wooden handles. Hand sharpened, double bits are used for cutting and splitting. Axe head is hydraulically seated onto handle and secured with a serrated aluminum wedge. Axe heads are drop forged from high quality tool steel and cutting edges have clear lacquer to deter rust. The serrated shape improves bite, and the aluminum choice of material is strong, lightweight, and does not change size with moisture content. Made in USA.
